DAN-1050 — Musical Concepts for Dance

This course provides a fundamental understanding of musical concepts and skills in application to movement, dance composition, and performance. Students identify terms and symbols on musical scores, classify the elements of musical time, and examine the elements of melody. Additionally, students use musical texture in movement phrases and perform a choreographic study highlighting musical form and structure. Course
