NUM-2120 — Clinical Nuclear Medicine II
Clinical experience courses provide the opportunity for students to observe, practice and perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures, as well as participate in a quality assurance program. Clinical courses are directed, competency-based experiences in affiliate health care facilities; licensed and registered technologists (or pharmacists) provide guidance, mentorship and critiques. This course is the second of five clinical education courses. The student will perform select routine imaging procedures independently following departmental protocol, evaluate acquired images for artifacts and abnormalities, and archive data for review by a radiologist. Additionally, the student will become an active participant in the clinical affiliate’s quality assurance program by performing quality control procedures and performing wipe tests and surveys for radioactive contamination.
