RST-1741 — Principles of Mechanical Ventilation and Introduction to Critical Care
This class is designed to familiarize students with concepts of both non-invasive and invasive mechanical ventilation and their application to patients in the intensive care setting. This will include but not be limited to: ventilator operating principles; physiological mechanics of compliance and resistance; flow patterns and pressure curves; PEEP therapy; pressure and volume modes of ventilation; setup and troubleshooting techniques using a variety of mechanical ventilators.
