SGT-2010 — Surgical Technology Clinical I

SGT-2010 is the first clinical practicum that introduces the student to an actual operating room setting. Students are provided the opportunity to apply the principles taught in didactic and laboratory setting pertaining to aseptic technique, instrumentation, and sterile items for surgical procedures and assist in basic operating room procedures. Students will be assigned to a clinical affiliation eight hours per day, three days per week, for 10 weeks, for a total of 240 hours of clinical experience. Competency based clinical skills must be successfully completed and checked off. Course
