MUS 201 — The Business of Music
Students will gain an understanding of the important concepts in the rapidly changing music industry and learn practical techniques and methods for promotion, legal representation, and monetization of musical content. Special attention will be given to creating effective communication skills in the industry, including self-promotion and branding. The course will offer an understanding of how audio-visual technology (AV/AI/VR) has shaped and defined recorded music and related music business models over the past 50 years.
