An interdisciplinary survey of why and how nations, organizations, and individuals use violence to achieve political ends. Investigation of economic, social, and political conditions that stimulate violence in contemporary society-such as international, civil and guerilla war; revolution; terrorism; revolt, or threat. The ideological and legal aspects of violence also examined.
