BIOL 231 - Ecology BIOL 231 - Ecology (3,3) 4 Credits General Education Course: Science (lab) Study of the interactions between organisms and the environment. Students will investigate and develop an understanding of the effects of physical and biological factors on the distribution and abundance of species. Major areas of focus include biogeography, adaptations and evolution, population biology, community and ecosystem ecology, and applications to modern environmental problems. Labs provide hands-on experience with field research techniques in local natural areas and a survey of important New Jersey ecosystems, patterns and processes. Two weekend field trips are required. in fall semester only. Course link
