ENGL 112H - English Composition II Honors ENGL 112H - English Composition II Honors (3,0) 3 Credits General Education Course: English Composition 5 or permission of the instructor. English Composition II Honors is the second course in the sequence and builds on the skills developed in English Composition I. The course emphasizes advanced rhetorical awareness through reading and composing texts. Students apply critical reading strategies to evaluate arguments and evidence in scholarly and public discourse and compose sustained, research-informed projects that synthesize multiple sources with their own ideas. Emphasizing strategies for substantial revision, reflective writing, and effective feedback, the course also strengthens students’ information literacy skills through critically assessing scholarly and popular sources for authority and relevance, while demonstrating control of language, style, and citation conventions.
