NURS 1114 — NURSING FOUNDATION AND SKILLS
Pre-Requisites: CHEM 1214 Survey of General, Organic, and Biochemistry w/Lab; MICR 2134 Microbiology with Lab; ZOOL 2134 Anatomy with Lab; and ZOOL 2144 Physiology with Lab Co-Requisites: AHS 2113 Pharmacology This course provides the student with the foundational concepts from which the remainder of the program has been designed. The concepts of safety, clinical judgment, evidence-based practice, pain, communication, care coordination, collaboration, technology and informatics are key to the nurse’s ability to perform skills safely and competently. Skills are incorporated into the course, preparing the students for future nursing course and clinical experiences.
