surveys American deaf culture, including its history, the evolution of cultural identity, worldviews, communications, significant personages, the visual and performing arts, literature, and aesthetics in the deaf community. This course is applicable toward all certificates and degrees; group requirements include humanities (AAS and ALS only); areas of concentration include foreign language (credit hours 3.0, lecture hours 3.0).
