ART 1040 — Survey in Art
Survey in Art is a general introduction to the visual arts, media, techniques, and history. Through thematic examination of art styles from the prehistoric to the 21st Century, students will acquire formal analysis skills to describe works of art and critically interpret and contextualize visual art forms. This course reviews the role of art in society as it applies to cultural values and expression, for individuals and various groups, both today and in historical perspective.
