DDCM 1010 — Typography & Color Theory

Students will develop an awareness to the visual impact of typography and color. Theories will be introduced related to type and color in visual communications. Students will be introduced to type terminology, font categories, legibility versus readability and font installation. Color perception and psychological response will be discussed along with building color schemes and color management. Students will demonstrate the value of subjective interpretation in comparison to an objective view of the cultural impact of color and typography in design to visually communicate a message.
