MSM 1225 — Introduction to Social Media Management

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of social media management and strategy. Students explore the unique audiences and engagement styles of various social media platforms, learning to match content strategies to each “type of audience” to maximize impact. Through hands-on experiential learning, each student will launch and manage content for one platform of their choice, designing and implementing a campaign and developing a content calendar with written and visual posts. The course concludes with peer evaluation and reflection, allowing students to analyze successes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement. This course provides the foundational knowledge and skills necessary for advanced study in Applied Social Media Management.
