WELD 1322 — Welding Processes, Metals & Fabrication
This course expands upon the Welding Processes course by focusing primarily on Gas Metal Arc Welding, Flux Core Arc Welding and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding. In addition, this course includes an overview of metals and how to weld them. Physical and mechanical properties of carbon steels, alloy steels, and cast irons, as applicable to the welder, are discussed. The shop/lab portion introduces students to each of the three welding processes and introduces basic concepts related welding, layout and fabrication techniques, machine set-up, and troubleshooting problems.
