An examination of the history of the United States from the early 1800s to the late 1890s with an emphasis on how geographic, political, economic, and social developments of the 19th century America shaped the conditions, attitudes, and values of the present-day. Topics include the Louisiana Purchase, conflicts between Federalists and Anit-Federalists, The War of 1812, The Era of Good Feeling, the Jacksonian Era, Sectionalism and Slavery, Westward Expansion, The Mexican-American War, The Antebellum Period, The Civil War Reconstruction, Industrialization, Populism, Progressivism, and American Expansion.
