2 credits · 2 hours

Martial Arts is the study of how different cultures defend themselves, their tribes, villages, and nations. Martial Arts is the training of mind, body, and spirit. It develops a sense of inner peace and exterior strength that enhances your overall wellness while teaching the practitioner, the ethics, and virtues of Martial Arts. Through the study of two different styles of Chinses martial arts, students will practice Tai Chi Chuan and Long Fist as a way to see the differences in styles, techniques, skills, and benefits. There will be some light physical contact but no emphasis will be placed on learning or practicing fighting in any form. No previous experience is necessary.
