PHY 10500 — Engineering Physics I
The first semester of a two-semester sequence in a calculus-based introductory physics course for students interested in a career in engineering/physics. Topics included are: measurements and units; the SI system of units; one-dimensional motion; vectors; two- and three-dimensional motion; Newton's laws of motion; work and energy linear momentum; collisions; center of mass; rotational motion; moment of inertia and torque; static equilibrium; buoyancy; simple harmonic motion; mechanical waves; heat and thermodynamics.
