This introductory course is designed to provide a foundation of knowledge in networking technologies and intelligent communication systems. Topics that are covered include the basics of home networking, automation, wireless, security and entertainment systems. This course provides hands-on training in all phases of installation and maintenance of copper networking systems and fiber optic connectivity. Students work with actual cabling and connectivity devices as they terminate, test and troubleshoot systems. This course also covers commercial and residential cabling standards, cable routing and placement. Upon completion of this course students will have earned three industry recognized certifications, and will be equipped with an effective resume and strategy to confidently secure a career in the telecommunications industry.
