BID-887 — Materials & Methods of Constru

This course will provide an introductory overview of the various materials used in construction. Students will be instructed in material properties and specifications and their applications in residential and commercial structures. Design techniques for individual building components, material selection, fireratings and basic building codes will be introduced. Students will learn to interpret architectural drawings and prepare quantity take-offs. No previous experience is necessary to enroll in this course. This course can be taken simultaneously with the Intro to CAD course. Prerequisites: None
