BID-888 — Intro to Cad

For those already in the construction industry and those planning a career in the engineering, construction, or architectural fields, this hands-on course provides students with a broad introduction to the fundamentals of drafting principles using Autocad, which is the industry standard in CAD software. The focus of the course will be on construction and architecture-specific applications. By the end of the course the students will gain sufficient insight in the use of computer-aided drafting techniques to prepare basic architectural working drawings for a simple residential project. CAD draftspersons prepare technical drawings to build everything from buildings to bridges, machinery and spacecraft, cars and toys and everything conceivable through planning and design. No previous experience is necessary to enroll in the Introduction to AutoCAD course. This course can be taken simultaneously with the Materials and Methods of Construction course.
