BID-947 — SHRM: FMLA Administration

0 credits · 0 hours

***MUST BE SHRM or HRCI Certified to attend*** Employers often encounter tough questions about how much leave must be given, under what circumstances leave is permitted, and, importantly, what rights they have as the employer. The 2009 amendments to Family & Medical Leave Act (FMLA) require covered employers to provide eligible employees up to 12 or up to 26 weeks of unpaid leave under certain circumstances. The "Family and Medical Leave Act Workshop" is a seminar designed to provide information, guidelines and examples of the key concepts such as "eligible employee," "serious health condition," "intermittent leave," and "qualifying exigency." You'll review legal guidelines, rules of administration, and pay and benefit options and requirements. Participants will also learn about the pitfalls of accepting incomplete or unclear medical certifications, and clear methods to improve the manner in which you administer FMLA in your workplace.
