This ECG Technician Program prepares students to sit for certification through various agencies. The course includes theory as well as skills application in performing electrocardiograms. Cardiac anatomy and physiology is reviewed as a basis for learning correct placement of leads for routine electrocardiograms as well as stress testing. Basic information about the wave forms associated with heart functioning and ECG interpretation is included. Patient communication skills, medical terminology and legal aspects of care are emphasized. This is an excellent beginning certification for the novice healthcare employee.
