ARTS 117 — Introduction to Digital Photography

3 Lecture Hours, 3 Credit Hours Prerequisites: ENGL 060 or ENGL 100 This course is an introduction to digital photography. Current trends in image making are examined from aesthetic, cultural, social, and political points of view. Topics include elements of basic camera operation, exposure, lighting, composition, visual literacy, and investigation of the relationships between elements of form, shape, line, and color. A suitable camera that is capable of operating in PSAM modes is required. These modes are also known as PTvAvM on some models. A DSLR or mirrorless type is preferred.
