COMM 223 — Creative Writing: Poetry
3 Lecture Hours, 3 Credits Prerequisites: ENGL 101 or ENGL 101E Students study a variety of poems for their poetic structure and write a series of poems in the narrative, dramatic and lyric forms. Students also share their poems in progress, demonstrating for example, figurative language, sound sequence, meter and stanzic patterns. They prepare at least three poems for submission to a magazine or literary journal.
