DMSI 101 — Introduction to Medical Imaging
1 Lecture Hours, 1 Credits Prerequisites: Admission to the DMS program Program Fee: $2,000 This introductory course provides foundational instruction for students entering the field of diagnostic medical sonography. An overview of the DMS profession and scope of practice will be provided. This course will familiarize students with different imaging modalities. Types of exams performed, benefits/contraindications, and typical appearances of biological tissues will be discussed for each imaging modality. Students will learn basic sonographic, medical, and directional terminology, as well as, scan planes, and image orientation.
