EXSI 209 — Applied Strength Assessment and Program Design
2 Lecture Hours, 2 Lab Hours, 3 Credits Prerequisites: BIOL 105; EXSI 116; EXSI 205 This course provides a comprehensive, hands-on approach to strength assessment and program design, emphasizing individualized client needs, fitness levels, and goals. Students will learn to conduct a variety of muscular strength, flexibility and functional movement, and body composition assessments Emphasis is placed on client consultation, goal-setting techniques, and foundational exercise psychology to enhance client motivation and adherence. Through practical labs, students will develop skills in designing and adjusting resistance training programs tailored for individual objectives, while following safety protocols and exercise modifications. This course prepares students to apply evidence-based techniques in real-world fitness and athletic settings.
