EXSI 215 — Cardiovascular Fitness Assessment and Program Design

2 Lecture Hours, 2 Lab Hours, 3 Credits Prerequisites: BIOL 105; EXSI 116; EXSI 205 This course provides a comprehensive, hands-on approach to cardiovascular fitness assessment and program design. Students will learn to conduct and interpret multiple cardiovascular assessments, including VO2 max estimations, submaximal tests, and heart rate and blood pressure monitoring. Speed and agility assessments are also included to support program design for athletic performance and endurance. Through practical labs, students will develop skills in designing and modifying programs to improve cardiovascular endurance, speed, and overall fitness. This course prepares students to apply evidence-based cardiovascular training techniques in fitness and athletic settings.
