HIST 102 — Western Civilization I

3 Lecture Hours, 3 Credits Prerequisites: ENGL 060 or ENGL 100 This course will acquaint the student with the major ideas, people, places, and events that have shaped the course of Western civilization from the sixteenth century to the contemporary period. Students will be encouraged to develop a critical and analytical approach to the study of historical problems. Students should discover the complexity of historical forces and increase their understanding of political, social, economic, cultural, and intellectual developments and their interrelation.
