PHYS 120 — Introduction to Photonics
2 Lecture Hours, 2 Lab, 3 Credits: Prerequisites: None Course Fees: C, H This course is an introduction to Photonics, starting with the basic laser safety measures followed by introductory discussion of the elementary principles of light and its applications and the mechanism of light production and lasers. The nature of light and its duality will be introduced and the basic atomic model will be presented and association between the atomic energy and light will be discussed. Lecture topics supported by a lab component.
