PTAS 110 — Kinesiology and Measurement I
1 Lecture Hours, 2 Lab Hours, 3 Credits Prerequisites: “C+” or better in BIOL 105 and MATH 108 Pre/Corequisites: “C+” or better in BIOL 106, PTAS 108, & PTAS 115 Course Fee: H Building upon Anatomy & Physiology I, this course will provide an in-depth study of the biomechanical principles and anatomical structures responsible for human movement with a focus on the upper extremities and spine. Students will be expected to demonstrate in lab competency with palpation of anatomical landmarks, assessing anthropometric measurements, muscle strength, joint range of motion, and application of therapeutic exercise. Documentation regarding data collection and treatment interventions will also be included.
