PTAS 205 — Orthopedics for the PTA
2 Lecture Hours, 2 Credits Prerequisites: “C+” or better in PTAS 105 & PTAS 125 Pre/Corequisites: “C+” or better in PTAS 202, PTAS 211, PTAS 213, & PTAS 217 This course builds upon the concepts introduced in Kinesiology and Measurement I & II, with a focus on common orthopedic injuries, disorders, and surgeries. PTA students will receive instruction on the phases of musculoskeletal tissue healing, treatment interventions, patient education, and therapeutic exercise progression within the plan of care developed by the supervising physical therapist.
