PTAS 213 — Geriatrics and Special Populations

2 Lecture Hours, 2 Credits: Prerequisites: “C+” or better in PTAS 105 & PTAS 120 Pre/Corequisites: “C+” or better in PTAS 202, PTAS 205, PTAS 211, & PTAS 217 This course is designed to prepare students with the knowledge to care for older adults and other special populations. Students will learn evidence-based approaches based on the unique needs, challenges, and considerations when working with geriatric, sports medicine, complex medical, and other individuals with diverse health conditions. Students will also build upon previously learned knowledge to address healthcare disparities in physical therapy practice.
