RADT 220 — Equipment Operation and Maintenance I
2 Lecture Hours, 2 Credits Prerequisites: RADT 200 Corequisites: RADT 201, RADT 202 This course delves into the fundamentals of electricity and electromagnetism as they relate to the operation of X-ray equipment. Students will learn to identify and troubleshoot common malfunctions in X-ray systems, with a focus on extending the lifespan of the tube through proper maintenance practices. Quality assurance principles will be emphasized, covering techniques for ensuring consistent image quality and equipment performance. Through a combination of theoretical instruction and hands-on demonstrations, students will acquire the skills necessary to diagnose equipment issues, perform QA tasks, and implement strategies to optimize the efficiency and longevity of radiologic equipment in the clinical setting.
