CHEM 232 - Petroleum Engineering Chemistry CHEM 232 - Petroleum Engineering Chemistry Description This course will introduce engineering chemistry with petroleum applications. Topics include organic chemistry, properties of gases, phase behaviour, thermodynamics, material balance, corrosion, sulfur treating and water treatment. Students will develop an understanding of the chemical principles behind the production processes used in the petroleum industry. 1.5 Credits Time Guidelines The standard instructional time for this course is 60 hours.
