ENVS 344 - Geographical Communications ENVS 344 - Geographical Communications Description This course is an introduction to GIS technology, aimed at individuals involved in the environmental field. The course is divided into three sections: GIS theory; data collection (involving positional and feature attribute data) with the use of hand held Global Positioning System (GPS) and survey equipment; and GIS mapping making use of a GIS desktop mapping application. 3 Credits Time Guidelines The standard instructional time for this course is 75 hours.
