A course in the harvesting of algae biomass, analysis of product, and effective storage of product. Mechanical, chemical, autoflocculation, dissolved air flotation, and ultrasound methods are presented. Matching appropriate technology to the harvesting of different algae species is emphasized. Students are expected to develop a model system for harvesting algae with a competent return-on-investment analysis.
