ALTF262L — Algae Harvesting Laboratory
Hands-on application of the material from ALTF 262 in the harvesting of algae biomass, analysis of product, and effective storage of product. Techniques in mechanical, chemical, autoflocculation, dissolved air flotation, and ultrasound methods are presented. Matching appropriate technology to the harvesting of different algae species is emphasized. Students are expected to utilize knowledge of pumps and motors in harvesting algae with a competent return-on-investment analysis.
