ARTS1850 — Metal Sculpture I

In this course students create metal sculpture using a variety cutting and welding techniques; the primary metal used is steel. Through learning the use of the equipment required to produce their work, students will become familiar with the correct processes, nomenclature, and safety precautions used in creating welded sculpture. The student will be introduced to the history and cultural framing of fabricated metal sculpture. May be taken twice for degree or certificate credit. all and Spring. One lecture hour, four
