ECED2275 — Early Literacy II - Development and Implementation
[Previously as: EDUC 256] An exploration of principles that enhance the development and implementation of emergent literacy practices with young children. These principles include direct instruction, experiential learning, listening to and sharing stories, and book readings. Students also learn how to modify the literacy environment and to encourage family participation. Literacy principles and best practices become the basis for the discussion and activities supporting effective instructional strategies. This course requires 10 hours of fieldwork in an early childhood classroom approved by the instructor. Graded: Letter Grade. pring. Three
