[Previously as: MAST 125] An introduction to diagnostic procedures routinely performed in the medical office laboratory setting. This course will cover CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments), waived hematology, chemistry, immunology, and microbiology testing. Federal Laboratory guidelines, quality control, and laboratory safety are also presented. Students learn to prepare patients for procedures, visits, and exams, with proper patient intake.
