[Previously as: HPER 231L] This course is designed for the serious swimmer. Students are provided swim-specific information through swim equipment, drills, proper biomechanics, and scientific principles related to the physiological effects of exercising. The course will incorporate the benefits of periodization and a well-rounded exercise program. Attention is focused on developing cardiovascular conditioning and muscular endurance. Student must be able to accurately swim all four competitive strokes and swim 500 meters freestyle continuously. Students are required to be at least 16 years old to enroll in this course.
