BHHS 210 — Psychosocial Rehabilitation
This course explores psychosocial rehabilitation (PSR) as a recovery -oriented, perso n-centered approach to behavioral healthcare. Students will examine the core principles, tools, and practices of PSR, with an emphasis on client empowerment, community inclusion, and the lived experience of mental illness. The course covers the philosophy and application of PSR across various service settings, including supported housing, employment, education, peer support, and integrated care. Students will learn to apply assessment strategies, promote wellness and self-determination, and support individu als with complex and cooccurring needs.
