BIOM 180 — Phycology: Biology of Seaweeds with Lab
4 cr. This course is designed to introduce the student to the major groups of algae with particular focus on marine algae found along the North Atlant ic shore. Emphasis will be placed on the methods of study, taxonomy, morphology, zonation, physiology and ecology of the principal groups of algae. Aquaculture and biotechnology will also be discussed.
