CMIT 120 — Linux System Administration

This course will introduce the student to the concepts of Open Source Operating Systems, commonly referred to as Linux. Open Source Linux has continued to evolve into a variet y of dependable, stable operating systems many of which are designed to work as servers. This course will deal with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and its various server configurations. During the semester the student will learn to install, configure, and manage the server environment. The course format will emphasize student exploration; development of critical thinking skills and student demonstration of understanding through practical assessments and written documentation. The class time for this course is a c ombination of lecture and hands-on activities. Prerequisite(s): CMIT-100, CMIT-105 Corequisite(s): none
