CONS 220 — Commercial Building Systems

This course is a study of various commercial building systems. Students will layout and place concrete footings, complete with anchor bolts, accord ing to plan, after which they will construct a pre -engineered building. Students will learn proper fabrication, rigging and erection techniques. Installation of metal roofing and siding will be covered. The course includes an introduction to masonry, where by the students will learn the history of masonry, how to mix mortar, the various patterns and bonds of masonry material, and the technique of laying brick and block. Estimating of all components will be covered. Prerequisite(s): CONS-105, CONS-115, CONS-125, CONS-135, CONS-150 Corequisite(s): CONS-230
