ENGL 230 — New England Myth and Folklore

This course is designed as an expansion of the fundamental Introduction to Literature course It explores regional oral and written tradition and its influence on New England writers. Utilizing past and present prose and poetry, fiction and nonfiction as catalysts, students will reflect upon and write responses to those experiences and explore their own perceptions of familial and cultural folklore through independent study. This course is writing intensive. Prerequisite(s): ENGL-100 or ENGL-101 Corequisite(s): ENGL-115
