FIRE 215 — Fire Service Leadership

This course is designed to develop a foundation of leadership, s upervision and communication skills for the fire officer. The subject matter, instruction, activities, and assignments will follow the recommendations for Fire Officer I and II as presented in NFPA 1021, Standard for Fire Officer Professional Qualifications. Students will study basic issues related to all supervision, as well as issues specific to fire service supervision. Students can earn state and national Fire Officer I and II certification by successfully completing this course, additional writing assignments, and community -based training and certification requirements. This course has been designated as a writing-intensive course. Prerequisite(s): ENGL-100 or ENGL-101 Corequisite(s): none
