This course is an introduction to the principles and practices of pruning. The course will cover selected topics on the science and art of pruning. Topics will include types and maintenance of pruning tools, reasons for pruning, plant responses to pruning and the various techniques used to effectively prune trees, shrubs, vines, edible fruits and herbaceous plants. Field trips are required. Prerequisite(s): HORT-110 Corequisite(s): none
