MDAS 111 — Introduction to Medical Ethics and Law
1 cr. This course is designed as an introduc tion to Medical Ethics and Law. Students will be exposed to various topics related to Medical Assisting which will include ethical/legal standards of practice, understanding Scope of Practice, HIPAA privacy laws, reducing liability, patient rights includin g rules around consent, the medical record as a legal document, and the importance of making ethical decisions in one’s professional capacity.
