MDAS 125 — Electronic Medical Records
This course provides instruction in use of an electronic health system with an understanding of how Electronic Health Records (EHR) changes healthcare delivery workflows that affect quality improvement, patient safety, and care coordination. Included is the use of industry-standard software for hands -on experience with electronic input to establish patient demographics for charting and clinical documentation generated during patient encounters, and the creation of templates. Decision support productivity tools are introduced. This course reviews the standards criteria, aspects of c ompliance and related regulations including the linking of Meaningful Use (MU) criteria, and measures the functions of EHRs.
